Where has the time gone?! The Worcester Festival will go out with a bang on Monday 28th August with the St Richard’s Hospice Fireworks – that’s just five days away! We’re not winding down just yet though, with lots to do and see over the coming days…
If you haven’t yet had the chance to see the Stained Glass Demonstrations in the Worcester Cathedral Nave, then make sure to get down there on Thursday 24th from 10am to see the skilled glass conservators at work. That same day, you can discover the stories behind some of the people in World War I who were connected to the Cathedral in The Men – Their WWI Stories Tour (11am-12noon)*. Later, at King John’s Tomb in the Cathedral Quire, you can hear about King John’s life, disputes and the lead up to him sealing the Magna Carta over 800 years ago at the King John Talk (3.30pm-4.15pm)*!

On Friday at 11.30am you can learn all about the 17th century at The Commandery* – from battlefield surgery, arms and armour to domestic life! Later on, discover all about the Enigma, Bletchley Park and the Battle of the Atlantic with Dr Mark Baldwin, 7.30pm at Huntingdon Hall*.
Saturday is bursting with creative flair! Check out the Worcestershire Architecture Awards 10am-4pm at the Worcester Guildhall, celebrating architects and architecture from across the county! If you’re into music, don’t miss The Rajasthan Heritage Brass Band – they’ll be bringing the High Street to life in a celebration of Rajasthan’s vibrant and colourful lifestyle throughout the day! In the afternoon the English Symphony Orchestra will be celebrating the power of musical storytelling at Huntingdon Hall* – a magical concert for listeners of all ages. You can also try your hand at an instrument before the performance at The Elgar School of Music (2pm)!
The Rajasthan Heritage Brass Band!
On Sunday, The Swan Theatre Summer Fête, is back for it’s fifth year, with games, table-top sales, cakes, sweets, prizes, films and face-painting – all under one roof! Plus, get to meet the cast of this year’s Swan Theatre Pantomime between 1pm and 2pm!
And finally, we come to Monday 28th, the final day of the Festival – boo! Help us finish what has been a spectacular 17 days in style. To do just that, there will be the One World in Our Park at Fort Royal Park, a free party starting at 2pm with dance, music, games and refreshments that goes on right up until the firework display to mark the end of the Worcester festival!
