This independent film is an uplifting Moroccan morality tale, following the true story of an illiterate woman who takes on tradition, her own family and the law for the sake of her illegitimate child. Director Deborah Perkin is the first person to film in a Moroccan family court, weaving strikingly candid footage to create a poignant and sometimes humorous film.
