Event Details

St Martin’s Church and the Royal School of Church Music (RSCM) invite experienced choral singers to come and sing a Choral Evensong that commemorates the anniversaries of William Byrd and Thomas Weelkes, who both died in 1623. Distinguished choral conductor Paul Trepte (formerly Director of Music at Ely Cathedral) will guide the ‘Come and Sing’ Choir to create an Evensong service that would have been familiar to a Worcester congregation in the years leading up to the English Civil War. Singers are asked to book their place online stmartinsevensong.eventbrite.co.uk, places are free, but donations are welcomed. Everyone is welcome to join the congregation for the service at 6pm – a traditional cathedral-style Choral Evensong with congregational hymns and readings from the King James Bible, congregation do not need to book.
