Preparing for a mystery trip to Scarborough, three northern coach drivers pass the time remembering more exciting trips from the past, such as the last one down the Rhine Valley to Heidelberg. Stick hates his passengers and wishes he was doing the Spanish run. Happy Larry has been making trips as long as he can remember and Frank is their female counterpart. As they reminisce, the drivers portray many of the passengers who have amused or annoyed them over the years. This bittersweet, funny and sometimes touching play shows us John Godber’s clever and perceptive view of “men of the world”, which includes occasional strong language and sensitive themes.
